The Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc.Olomouc is the second largest municipal monuments reservation in the Czech Republic after Prague.

The Holy Trinity Column on Upper Square has been part of UNESCO World Heritage list since 2000. It is the largest collection of Baroque statues in one piece of sculpture in central Europe.

Olomouc which has been the capital of Moravia and also seat of Bishop was hit by plague between 1713-1715. The column was erected as a memorial of this epidemic. It is 35m high. You can admire in total 18 statues of saints, for example St. Wenceslas, St. Mauritz, St. Cyril and Methodius, St. Adalbert and John from Nepomuk. Other decorations are 12 linkboys, 6 reliefs and 2 sculptural groups. There is also a chapel in the base of the Column.

Olomouc offers many clerical monuments. There is the Neo-Gothic Cathedral of St Wenceslas, where the last king from Premyslid dynasty had been assassinated and the largest Premonstratensian monastery in Europe. In the fortified church of St. Moritz you can also visit International Organ Festival, which takes place every year.
